baiting it every night too. To be honest, I wouldn’t dream of fishing those
areas, and that bit of info worked for places to leave alone. Add to that three
or four more proper boat anglers, and I really was up against it! They did
also both say that the carp were flighty on that section, and when they did
get one, after baiting a spot and catching one, the carp would do one, the
bream would move in, and they’d be back to square one. Both had struggled
to break double figures for a season despite fishing the river as their target
water, and like I said before, they are proper anglers. Great, I thought! The
section was granite hard, and I only had a couple of nights a month fish
it! The winter was cold and bitter, and the season ended without anything
more than more bream.
During the closed season, I had upgraded the outboard to a 9.9 Yamaha,
which fitted on the boat’s steering controls. At last I could now stand up
and pilot the boat! That was after I stripped down the controls it came
