with, reconditioned and painted them, added new cables and serviced the
outboard. One of the best features of this boat was that the steering wheel
is on the right-hand side, as most are on the left, and on the river you have
to keep to the right, so I could look straight down into the marginal water
– great for fish spotting.
At the start of the next season, my friend Nikk Aylin and I had done a bit of
prep on a swim in the next section up. We had fished the odd session there
in the past and knew the carp were there early season. We loaded up Project
