A rocket of a common
that tripped up yesterday
m o r n i n g.
I got the rods out just as
it was starting to get light
quietly placing both rigs
r i g h t i n t h e e d g e, a r o u n d h a l f
5 the right-hand rod ripped
off with the fish powering
from the margin to the far
bank within seconds.
This mint, dark common
putting an end to a run of
recent mirrors.

My last session of July and
what a way to end with this
stunning common.
I was beginning to regret
leaving the comfort of my
o w n b e d t h o u g h t h i s m o r n i n g,
as it absolutely chucked it
down soon after getting the
rods out, but any regret soon
vanished when this hard
fighting common eventually
ended up in the net.
