MILL LANE
FROM THE WATER
Mill Lane had always been a venue where I wanted to spend some time.
A few years earlier, I photographed the lake's largest resident, Whiskers,
for a good friend. The fish has since passed away.
In mid-May 2026, I started walking the venue. It was busy, but I regularly
found fish. The carp at Mill Lane are very showy for a venue regarded
as difficult.
On my first night, I introduced a mixture of boilie, hemp and corn to a
gravel spot only a few rod lengths out. The night passed uneventfully, but
at first light I was treated to a very active display.
