FROM THE WATER
After catching Small Tail at Yateley, I had a week's fishing at Bay Lakes
in France with a few friends. We were all keeping a close eye on the
forecast because some incredibly hot weather was due.
When we arrived in France at 8am, it was already above 25 degrees.
After a two-and-a-half-hour drive, we reached the lake. Once the draw
was completed, we headed to our pegs to set up and find spots, but
temperatures above 30 degrees made that difficult.
On the first morning, I got off the mark with a pristine 37lb common. By
9am, the heat was extraordinary and even sitting beside the lake became
a chore. Fortunately, the site had power showers, which I visited several
times a day.
