THROUGH WINTER
FROM THE WATER
October was kind, and I landed my second forty, a ghostly common of 43
pounds. I m on a roll, or so I thought! I landed a few more in October and
a small one from the snags in early November, then boom 3.5 months of
blanking! It was winter, and I had such high hopes with the lake being so
shallow, but the place went dead, I mean stone dead! To my knowledge, it
did 3 bites that winter! I fished too, a fair bit but couldn t buy a bite! I had
to wait till mid-March before I had another bite; in fact, I had two! The
first was a beautiful scaley one just under thirty and then closely followed
by another forty! The cut-tail ghosty at 43 if I remember rightly! And just
like that, I was back off again another 4 bites to 38 pounds on my next
session, including an absolute worldy fully, just under 30 but stunning
And totally unexpected when I looked down into my mesh!
