FROM THE WATER
So a plan was hatched, quite simple really, fish the open water swims as
much as possible, and that s exactly what I did and have been doing since;
I have nicked the odd blank saver here and there from the woodwork, but
almost all of my fishing would now be out in the pond, which suits my style
of fishing more now Trapping rather than hunting if you like.
So season two was off to a flier, bouncing between all the open water pegs
and having the results, I was catching consistently and the average weights
were much better .
August saw me land 3 big forties, a big grey box common that I d never
seen before, and a mid forty mirror named Si s fish as well as the big
ghostie again at mid forty and a classic shaped carp, big head, over-slung
mouth and a saddleback, if it weren t a ghosty it would be top of everyone s
list! It s even been fifty plus quite regularly! Having seen it in all corners
of the lake many times before glowing like a beluga whale, I was chuffed
to have a cuddle with it!!
