A SPECIAL FISH
FROM THE WATER
I ve been fishing the lakes at Bluebell for many years, and over the last
seven years I ve fished Kingfisher and Swan Lake on and off. One thing
I d never managed to do was catch one of Swan s A-team. I d had plenty
of fish over the years, but that one special fish had always eluded me. On
this particular session I had nothing for the first 24 hours. My middle rod
was on a spot that had produced some decent fish for me before, but with
nothing happening I decided to move it. I put it out at 23 wraps, behind
a bed of weed. I was happy with the spot and just hoped it would produce.
Then, at roughly 2:15am, the bite alarm went off. To be honest, it sounded
more like a bream bite than a carp. I was still half asleep when I picked up
the rod and at first the fish hardly fought at all. She just seemed to come
in without giving me much trouble.
