FROM THE WATER
Absolutely made up with this big old warrior of a common! Everything
screamed perfection this morning, from the second I left the house, to
the moment I turned up at the canal. It was made even more perfect by
the sight of a fish 'flanking' on the near margin. It was a case of waiting
for the fish to leave the spot before quickly placing a bait on it as I
knew if I was spotted, it would have been 'game over'. Only ten minutes
passed before the rod went into meltdown with a savage margin take.
There's rarely an easy battle with a canal carp but a wise old fish like
this knows every trick in the book and it very nearly beat me... nearly.
