FIELD NOTES
Having secured the area that I was after, it was a case of putting three
singles out for the first 24 hours just to get a feel of how the carp were
feeding. The following day, I introduced my usual large spread of the
Hybrid and Essential Cell in various sizes at range via the Spomb. Now
I have to say conditions weren t the best with the pressure rising and
the water temps dropping slightly with cold nights combined with north
easterlies. Following another fruitless 24 hours, I opted to introduce a
little more bait, but not before I rechecked my spots just to make sure I
was presented correctly, and I was I was fishing two rods on the baited
area, and my third rod was fished as a rover with bags.
I was now on the fourth day of my four-night session and still carpless.
If I was honest, I really didn t think it was going to happen. As my fourth
night yet again passed without event, it was time for the dreaded pack
down, albeit a slow one.
