The Common
On the Friday night after work, I arrived at Old Mill Lakes to fish Birch for
the bank holiday weekend. Once I got to the lakes, I took a walk around
and spoke to a few lads to see how they were getting on and if they had
seen anything. By this time darkness was a few hours away, and I was
setting up in a swim called No Carp Corner, which suited the weather what
was coming up over the weekend after not seeing anything to go on. As I
was setting up my gear, I saw numerous shows at the other end of the lake.
I packed my gear up and moved in there so I could be on fish from the off.
Fish were still showing in the swim I moved into, and I sat back and had a
think of where to position the rods near to the fish without spooking them.
