LEWIS NORTH
A 30lb mirror to start the weekend with hopefully a few more to come.
FIELD NOTES
The Mirror
I arrived at the lake on the Friday night.
I had some thinking to do about swim choice, as I knew the lake was going
to be busy at the weekend, so I was trying to predict where the fish were
going to end up. I opted for a swim called Doubles for the weekend, which
controls a nice far margin and a few channels that the fish like to sit in
when the lake gets pressured. I clipped two rods in each channel along the
back margin and a rod short to have all my options covered for whichever
way the fish moved through.
On the first night, I put hardly any bait out because I knew everyone else
would be and causing disturbance.
The fish moved over me on the Saturday morning, and I saw a few feeding
signs. The morning moved on, and none of the rods went off in the end,
which I was surprised at. The reason I was surprised I didn't get a bite the
first morning is because I don't think I put enough bait out in the swim to
start with to get the fish properly on the munch and finding the food.
