FIELD NOTES
Line slackened off, indicator on the floor, I nipped back to the brolly and
sat back listening to the night sounds, head nodding trying not to fall
asleep Quack quack-quack-quack The low-tone Delkim under the
tree signalled another take.
Again, I hit it before the line had pulled from the clip and felt solid,
slow-moving resistance. This one just felt like I d hooked a slow-moving
sack of cement. It circled in front of me, and I just couldn t lift it from
the bottom. I had my phone on me, and said Hey Siri! Call Andrew
Conradi! It rang and rang nothing. No support on this one! I managed
to shuffle the old Fox Trigger-Lock net down the steep bank, although I
snagged pretty much every bramble on the way down.
Thankfully, I d had the wherewithal to keep my headtorch around my
neck, so I had no need to panic.
