FIELD NOTES
We were absolutely mesmerised by the images coming from the little
drone. And then it happened, and Will s rod ripped off!
With Phill filming above and me videoing from the bank, Will extracted
the fish from a weedbed and guided it to the net. I don t think I ve ever
seen someone so happy to land a carp, and at 18lb 12oz, the classic
looking near-leather made the trip complete for him.
I d love to say that on the final night, Phill was rewarded for his patience
and culinary skills, but unfortunately it wasn t to be on this trip. After
photographing several big twenties for him on our next trip, however, I
don t feel too guilty! Ray popped round on our final morning to wish us
well, and we departed a very happy bunch, Needless to say, we ll be back.
If you are considering booking the Pads, we can thoroughly recommend
a trip. From start to finish, it totally exceeded our expectations and is one
that will live long in our memories.
