On the other rod, I used a multi-rig and a Tutti Frutti pop-up fished just
off the bottom. On both rods I used 2.5oz leads on a lead clip system and
a lead core leader, and the rods were both positioned amongst the bait
about two rod lengths apart.
I cooked a bit of supper and settled down for the evening, listening to
the football on the radio, and soon drifted off to sleep, hoping to get
some action after midnight on what would then be my birthday and St.
George s Day. I was awoken at about 3am by a couple of bleeps on my
left hand rod, which had the Fruit and Nut snowman on it.
From the shelter, I shone the head torch onto the bobbin, which hadn t
moved, so I thought, liner, and went back to sleep.
First one safely in the sling.
