The view from the swim.
FIELD NOTES
I very nearly just fished with the remaining single rod for the rest of the
night, but then I remembered I had a third rod set up in the bag for naked
chod fishing so that I could change my fishing method without having
to break down one of the other rods. I quickly clipped a Fruit and Nut
snowman rig on the quick-change swivel so I could fish it helicopter style.
I cast back to the spot using the line clip and topped it up with about 20
Fruit and Nut boilies with the catapult and went back to bed, feeling a
little deflated.
The rest of the night passed uneventfully, and I was lying in the bag at about
7.30am looking at the rods and the lake when the bobbin on the recast Fruit
and Nut rod smacked to the butt, the bait runner began spinning and the
Delkim sang its song. I ran down and bent into it, and the trusty old Nirvana
rod hooped over, and a large dark mirror came straight to the surface.
It wallowed on the top a bit, and to be honest, it didn t fight much, and I just
led it straight into the waiting net. I unhooked it in the net and got it into
the retention sling while I got the scales ready.
